KENSINGTON COURT - LEHIGH AVENUE

This large, underutilized site is situated at two sharp urban boundaries- along an active freight rail line on one edge, and along a wide arterial street on the other. New single-family, multi-family, and mixed-use buildings are situated along the street to mirror and mimic the existing context. The new site layout revives once-vanished streets, now re-imagined as pedestrian and bike-friendly connectors. Community amenities include a fitness path, bike storage, dog park, ride-share waiting zone, and multiple street level entry points. Our firm worked with the Philadelphia Water Department and Ruggiero Plante civil engineers to provide utility sizing for each of the town homes, private mains, and the mixed-use buildings.
ALDEN PARK APARTMENTS

Alden Park apartment homes are spread amongst three distinct high-rise residential buildings and 38 acres next to Wissahickon Valley Park. Per Philadelphia Water Department recommendations, we were hired by Alden Park owners LC3 Capital Partners to troubleshoot the private domestic water and fire service mains within the site and to assist with a new fire pump and standpipe system installation. Working with the Philadelphia Water Department, testing was conducted on the Wissahickon Avenue water main, which provides the water and fire service to the majority of the site. We completed testing on the private main system throughout the site to determine the condition of the existing private mains and made recommendations on upgrading the private fire service to accommodate a new 1,000 GPM fire pump installed in one of the three high rise towers.
NORTHBANK - 2001 BEACH STREET

An exciting new construction development for the Fishtown neighborhood in Philadelphia, the project consists of two mixed use multi-family buildings, 52 duplex buildings, and 254 town homes. Surrounded by lush natural beauty, and just across the river from Petty Island. Steps to riverfront trails and only minutes to nearby Fishtown and Center City, Northbank offers the chance for new home owners to reconnect with the water. New electrical and gas utilities were required to extend down to Beach Street from Richmond Street to serve the site. We provided the load calculation information for both electrical and gas usage, and worked with Peco, PGW, and Bohler Engineering on the utility services and infrastructure within the site. An existing water main on Beach Street was used to serve the site for both private fire and private water services. We designed a new pump house for domestic water service and fire service to all the low rise buildings. We provided water usage calculation data to the Philadelphia Water Department for the new connections into the existing water main on Beach Street.
THE LOCKS - VENICE ISLAND
Location: Philadelphia, Pa
Type: UTIlITY DESIGN
A new construction community of 60 townhomes built on an island between the Schuylkill River and the Manayunk Canal. New water, gas, and electrical utilities were required to extend to the island from Main Street across the canal. The design includes a pedestrian trail along the river as well as a new pedestrian bridge connecting the island trail to Belmont Avenue Bridge above. We provided the load calculation information for both electrical and gas usage, and worked with Peco, PGW, and Ruggiero Plante civil engineers on the utility services and infrastructure within the site. We provided water usage calculation data to the Philadelphia Water Department for the new extended water main to the island. We sized all utilities to each of the town homes as well as the private mains. We provided site lighting design for the landscaping areas between the houses as well as the new pedestrian trail.
